Policies and Procedures (Keep to the Code):
Tuition: Tuition is due monthly and is
required on the 1 st class of the month. Regular monthly tuition is $40
but may be adjusted +/- depending on the class schedule for the current
month. The drop in rate is $12 per class. In case of a bounced check,
there will be a $20.00 returned check fee.
Discounts: You may add any additional
class for $20 each (Half Price).
Kashmir offers no refunds on tuition, dance concert fee,
or costume costs.
Attendance & Missed Class Policy:
Attendance will be taken in each class. Students who want to perform
are expected to attend class regularly. This allows them to grow and
progress in dance. Dance is a physical art form that builds strength,
flexibility, and coordination. It must be practiced multiple times a
week for the body to respond. When students miss consecutive classes
they are missing both instructional information and the strength and
repetition required to progress as a dancer.
Kashmir offers no refunds for missed classes. Students
are allowed and encouraged to make up missed classes in an equal or lower
level than their current level. Make-Up classes are to be taken during
the same month they are missed. Missed classes may not be carried over
into the next month - NO EXCEPTIONS. Should you need to schedule a make-up
class, please contact Corrie.
Parental Responsibility: Parents are responsible
for their children before and after classes/rehearsals. Please do not
drop your young dancers off to be unattended more than fifteen minutes
prior to class or rehearsal. Prompt pickup afterwards is also expected. Neither
Kashmir nor the UAA can be responsible for dancers or visitors outside
of the classroom at any time. Kashmir reserves the right to dismiss
anyone who is a discipline problem, damaging property, or becomes a danger
to others.
Student Conduct: Students are allowed
in the classrooms, warm-up area, restrooms, and reception area only. Dancers
are expected to be respectful to others, their belongings, feelings,
and personal space. Please respect other classes which may be in progress
at the UAA.
Kashmir Class Policy: We reserve the right
to add or drop classes based upon enrollment and to change instructors
if necessary. In the event that a regular instructor must miss a class
a qualified substitute will be assigned. If no substitute can be contacted
in time, Kashmir reserves the right to combine classes together for the
day. From time to time, classes must be cancelled due to performance
schedules, illnesses or severe weather. Kashmir will make every effort
to notify students when classes are cancelled; there will be a message
on the Kashmir phone and it will be posted on the Kashmir
Yahoo group. Please make sure to join the message group list and
check it often.
Dress Code: The Dress code is important
because it allows the instructors to see the dancers' bodies in order
to correct their movement. It also helps put you in the proper mind set
for dance.
***PLEASE - DO NOT WEAR PERFUME OR SCENTED BODY/HAIR
PRODUCTS TO CLASS***

Kashmir Dance Company Professional Performance
Troupe
The Kashmir Dance Company is not directly affiliated
with my classes. There is no direct progression from my class levels
into this troupe. That said, if one were truly interested in one day
being a part of Kashmir Dance Company, my classes teach the format
which Kashmir's style is based on. Regular and consistent study with
us is an excellent way to develop your improvisational skills, expand
your movement vocabulary, and learn how to put all the diverse elements
of ATS and Tribal Fusion belly dance into a cohesive format. While
there are no guarantees or promises of an invitation, the performing
troupe and long term advanced students in my class would have a distinct
advantage in consideration for future troupe additions. My greatest
advice is to be dedicated and patient--focus on your personal development,
setting goals for your own physical and mental growth in the dance,
independent of any troupe affiliation expectations.
